“It is only with the heart
that one can see rightly;
what is essential
is invisible to the eye.”

About Me

Storytelling has been a constant thread throughout my life. Growing up in remote communities without television, I turned to books and my imagination to fill the void. From Anna Sewell’s Black Beauty and Charles Dickens’ timeless classics to Tad Williams’ epic tales and Jean M. Auel’s intricate worlds, I devoured stories wherever I could find them. Tables of dusty, second-hand books were my treasure troves, each new discovery sparking a fresh adventure.

My passion for storytelling has shaped both my career and my creative pursuits. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked as a journalist, photo editor, production editor, and senior editor, honing my skills in crafting narratives, uncovering truths, and breathing life into ideas.

As a visual artist, I’ve spent more than 30 years creating bold, evocative works in watercolour, acrylic, or oils, complemented by intricate line work to capture the interplay between the ordinary and the ethereal. My photography tells stories through striking visuals that evoke raw emotion.

Now, I’m channelling all these experiences into my fiction, marking an exciting milestone in my writing journey.

Whether through words, brushstrokes, or photographs, I remain committed to crafting stories that resonate, inspire, and transport readers to worlds both familiar and fantastical.

I share my home with my loyal dog, Honey B, who is always up for an adventure or a nap by my side and my two curious and mischievous rabbits, Greyling and Hawkins. There’s a few others along for the ride; the eldest daughter and her amazing kids, middler daughter, her dog and four guinea pigs, and the younger and her two chinchillas. Together, they bring endless joy and inspiration to my life as I continue to explore my passions for storytelling, art, and Canada’s vast wilderness.
